That roundabout we nearly went round the wrong way after trying to blag* a charge from the new LeClerc bornes? Put it down to fatigue.
We are, finally, in our comfy hotel room on the outskirts of Chalons-en-Champagne. It’s the Hotel Bristol and while it doesn’t have any charge points, it does have a delightful owner who couldn’t be more helpful, even down to showing us how the secret shower works: “surprise!”
We’ve been here for less than half an hour. The wine is breathing, the Apprentice is on the telly and the room already looks like a bomb’s hit it.
* We found a set of brand new chargers (only type 2 but ya know, beggars can’t be choosers) at the local LeClerc. Unfortunately you need a LeClerc borne card and when the shop’s shut, what good is that?
